Collectible mini bears with old-world charm

This week, three collectible mini bears made of vintage-style mohair were born in my workshop Un Ours dans ma Maison. Small in size but rich in character, they embody the spirit of traditional art bears, crafted with patience, precision, and a love for detail.

Designed for collectors and lovers of authentic creations, these mohair mini bears are entirely handmade, following an artisanal approach true to ancient techniques.

Mohair: a noble and timeless material

Mohair is an iconic fiber in the world of collectible bears. Used for decades by art bear creators, it stands out for:

  • its lively and aged texture,

  • its exceptional durability,

  • its naturally vintage and poetic appearance.

For these three mini bears, I selected mohairs in soft and slightly antique shades to enhance their timeless character and visual softness.

Old-fashioned articulation: traditional craftsmanship

Each of these mini bears is articulated using a traditional method, with the help of metal washers and pins. This technique allows for delicate positioning of the head and limbs, while respecting the aesthetic of old collectible bears.

This articulation brings each bear to life and makes it a true articulated art piece, intended to be displayed rather than handled as a toy.
